Enoch

From Encyclopædia

Enoch
Enoch
{ee'-nahk} Enoch was the name of two biblical characters. In Genesis 4, Enoch was the son of CAIN and thus the grandson of Adam. In Genesis 5, Enoch was the father of METHUSELAH. The latter is described as a holy man who "walked with God" (Gen. 5:24). For this reason, he was an important figure in popular tradition.
