Abracadabra

From Encyclopædia

Abracadabra was originally a magical incantation intended to ward off evil spirits. It was first employed in the Middle East in the occult ceremonies of the 2d-century Gnostics. Now, however, "abracadabra" is merely gibberish frequently used in popular magic and conjuring.
