university of Aberdeen (enrollment: 7,332; library: about 1,000,000 volumes) was formed by the merger in 1860 of King's College (1494) and Marischal College (1593). Located in Aberdeen,
Scotland, it is a coeducational institution and has faculties of arts,
science, divinity, law, and
medicine. All grant undergraduate and graduate degrees. Associated colleges are Robert Gordon's Institute of
technology and the North of
Scotland College of Agriculture.
